PORTLAND, Maine - The Portland International Jetport today announced that United Airlines is adding new, summer seasonal, non-stop service to Los Angeles and San Francisco, California. Both new cities will operate on Saturdays only starting June 27, 2026.
“Today’s announcement from United is a first for the Portland Jetport,” said Paul Bradbury, Airport Director. “This summer United Airlines will connect the State of Maine to the State of California with non-stop trans-continental air service! This level of connectivity is truly remarkable and we are grateful for United’s continued investment in the Portland market.”
The addition of United’s two west coast hubs now connects the world to Portland with non-stop service to all seven of United’s domestic hubs. United will also be operating Saturday service to Houston Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston, Texas and will have daily services to Chicago O’Hare, Denver, New York City/Newark, and Washington DC Dulles for the summer 2026 travel season.
“The addition of Los Angeles and San Francisco to our route network connects us with two of our top unserved markets and provides incredibly easy access to and from the west coast during our peak tourism season,” said Zach Sundquist, Assistant Airport Director.
Tickets will be available for purchase on Friday, January 16, 2026. The new service will be operated on a Boeing 737 aircraft. For actual flight times and connection opportunities, customers should visit United’s website at www.united.com or call 1-800-UNITED-1.
