PORTLAND, Maine - The Portland International Jetport announced this morning that American Airlines has expanded its Saturday service to Miami. The service was initially slated to operate as a winter seasonal, but with today’s announcement American Airlines has expanded the service to continue throughout the year starting June 5, 2021. 

“We are once again pleased that our airline partners continue to put resources into our market,” said Paul Bradbury, Airport Director. “Throughout the pandemic American Airlines has continued to push our market forward adding Dallas/Ft. Worth service last summer, and Miami this winter. Today’s announcement that Saturday service to Miami is being extended  year-round is a huge win for the South Florida to Maine market”, he continued.

American Airlines is currently the largest airline at the Jetport with nonstop service to seven destinations including Charlotte, Chicago (O’Hare), Dallas/Ft. Worth, Miami, New York City (LaGuardia), Philadelphia, and Washington D.C. (National)

The expanded flights operate every Saturday on an Embraer E175 aircraft. Tickets can be purchased online starting February 15, 2021 at www.aa.com
