PORTLAND, Maine - The Portland International Jetport today announced that 2025 was the all-time busiest year in Jetport history. A total of 2,593,067 passengers flew in and out of the Jetport breaking the record set in 2024 of 2,438,054. Since the 2020 COVID pandemic the Jetport has seen rapid restoration of service and was the first airport in New England to surpass its pre-pandemic levels in 2023.
“Another record setting year is in the books” said Paul Bradbury, Airport Director. “We can’t emphasize enough how unusual it is for northern New England to outperform the region. It is a testament to the strength of the Portland and Maine markets that we continue to thrive in a challenging environment” he continued.
In total nine airlines provided air service to 27 non-stop destinations in 2025 with American Airlines serving the most passengers (726,443) representing 28.01% of all passengers.

In July of 2025 the Jetport cut the ribbon on a $21.6 Million, 4,200 square foot addition to the passenger concourse adding three new passenger boarding bridges, 7 ADA accessible all-gender toilets, and a new service animal relief area. The expansion is a critical component of the Jetport strategy to maintain the highest level of customer experience as it continues to set traffic records.
The Jetport also engaged goodmaps to provide in-terminal navigation for passengers. While primarily a resource for vision impaired and neurodivergent travelers the app is available for all passengers to assist in navigating the Jetport.
2026 Additions:
While 2025 was record setting, the momentum is carrying into 2026. In January United Airlines announced the addition of Saturday service during the peak summer months to both San Francisco and Los Angeles, California. These markets represent the first ever transcontinental flights from Maine to California.
