PORTLAND, Maine - The Portland International Jetport today announced that Frontier Airlines is expanding service at the Jetport adding three flights a week to Miami, Florida this winter. The new service starts November 1, 2021.

“We are thrilled that throughout the past year Frontier continues to grow their presence at the Jetport,” said Paul Bradbury, Airport Director. “Their flights are targeting high demand destinations that are in season while providing convenient, non-stop service” he continued.

“We are thrilled to continue Frontier’s remarkable growth streak with the announcement of new service from Portland to Miami beginning in November,” said Daniel Shurz, senior vice president of commercial, Frontier Airlines. “We continue to focus on adding service to markets where our ‘Low Fares Done Right’ approach benefits customers and stimulates demand with affordable fares and convenient service.”

Frontier Airlines has rapidly expanded destinations out of PWM since starting service in July of 2018. A review of their growth includes:
    
    July 2018 - Denver, CO and Raleigh/Durham, NC
    
    August 2018 - Orlando, FL

    November 2018 - Fort Myers, FL and Tampa, FL

    June 2021 - Myrtle Beach, SC

    July 2021 - Atlanta, GA and Philadelphia, PA

    November 2021 - Miami, FL

With today's announcement, Frontier services nine non-stop destinations with seasonal service from the Jetport.

The new non-stop service to Miami will initially operate on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Frontier operates one of the newest aircraft fleets in the country with the Airbus A320 family of  aircraft.
